The forming chamber is located downstream of the spinning machine and is used to collect mineral fibers to form the so-called “primary felt.” After fiberization, the fibers are separated from heavy particles, sprayed with binder, and uniformly deposited onto a conveyor through a controlled vacuum system.
The aerodynamic design of the forming chamber is critical to ensure high process efficiency and even fiber distribution, which directly affects the density uniformity and quality of the final rock wool product. Multiple layers of primary felt can be formed and combined according to different density requirements.
Depending on production capacity and customer requirements, two forming chamber solutions are available: triangle forming chamber and drum forming chamber.
